There will be a day....

There is a song that says, "There will be a day with no more fear, no more pain, and no more tears." That song has been running through my head all week. I know that day has come for Grandma and it makes me smile knowing she is up in heaven singing and I'm sure playing with all the little children. For her funeral on Friday we can write any remembrances we have of her. As I sit here and think about the 31 years that I've spent with her, it's hard to write down just a few, but I thought I'd share just a bit of what my Grandma was to me.

I remember Grandma not necessarily for all the big things, although there were many, but for the countless little things that she did simply out of love. Every year for our birthdays we would get to pick out they type of cake we wanted and she made it exactly to our specifications. She not only made cakes for us, but Christmas ornaments, which now hang on my family tree, and dolls with their own little outfits, which my children now play with. I remember all the times that we went over to play and the walks that we took. I remember her teaching me that when you get a side ache to bend over and spit and that will get rid of it! I also remember her buying me my first lunchbox and then making mayonnaise and cheese sandwiches to put inside for my lunch. But most of all I remember the smiles, the hugs, and knowing how proud she was of all I accomplished.
