Two Months Old!

Our babies are two months old all ready! They had their checkup today and are growing well.
Here are their stats:
Drew Henry: 10 lbs. 5 oz. & 22 inches long
Lauren June: 7 lb. 14 oz. & 21 inches long
Yes....Lauren is a whole 2 1/2 pounds lighter than Drew! That boy likes to eat!! Lauren still isn't up the weight that Reagan was at birth. Their Dr. said they both look great though and Lauren has grown quite a bit since her last check up so there is nothing to worry about. He also warned me that Drew is very strong for his age and he will very likely be rolling before 4 months and crawling and walking early. Hmmm...I'm not sure I'm ready for any more messes in my house!

Ryan & I took Lucas & Reagan to the Iowa State Fair this year. My mom was gracious enough to stay home with the twins! The kids enjoyed seeing all the things and eating corndogs. One of their favorite things was the Little Hands on the Farm exhibit. They got to plant and gather vegetables, pick apples, drive a tractor, pick corn, gather wool, and milk a cow. They also got to sell all of their items at the market and then use the money they earned to buy something at the store. They were just like real farmers!! Of course, we had to check out the big bull and the big boar. Reagan said her favorite part of the fair was the big pig! Jason and Kristin gave us some extra ride tickets they had, so we got to go on the sky glider. Luke and Ryan also went on the big yellow slide and I took the kids on a little rollercoaster in the midway. Woooh...what a day! Drew is calling, so I'll end this post!

One of our favorite summer time treats is sweetcorn from the local farmstand. Reagan liked to help husk the corn, although we were able to get them all finished in the time she had one cleaned!

Luke had his first swimming lessons this summer at a local pool. He went every week night for two weeks and had a blast! He loved jumping off the diving board and was one of the few kids who would do it by themselves. Of course, the last day was the best because they got to go down the slide and play on the different things! He's already asking about going next summer and practices his own swimming lessons in our little pool out back!

Baptism

Drew and Lauren were baptized on July 27 at our church. We had a beautiful day and were happy that so many of our family were able to help us celebrate this special day. We had lunch at our house afterward and were able to all fit! That was a first! Ryan and I also celebrated our 7th anniversary on Monday, July 28. My how things have changed!!!

To those of you who've been waiting for a new post, I'm sorry this has taken me so long. I've been trying to get this updated for the past two weeks, which might give you a glimpse into what our household is like. Drew and Lauren are seven weeks old today and are starting to really interact with us. Drew is easy to get a smile from, but Lauren doesn't hand them out for free!:) You can see from the one picture that they don't look much alike. He has at least a pound on her and is quite a bit longer. Their personalities are as different as their looks! I was joking the other day that people that didn't know any better would think that I kept one in for a month or so longer.
