Start your engines...

The big kids and I headed to Oskaloosa this morning for a pinewood derby car race. My dad had made each of the 5 oldest grandkids 2 pinewood derby cars. He let them each paint them to their liking and then he got them all ready for them. Luke & Reagan definitely didn't win best in show, but they were their cars!:) Luke won 2nd place in both his classes and was pumped about the two trophies he got to take home. They are currently sitting on our mantle, because he told me they are display trophies. Reagan received 4th place for one of her cars and unfortunately just won some beads and not an actual trophy, but she did get a participation ribbon also. I also had a car and came in 10th place. I had no idea how seriously some people take car racing! The kids had a fun time. Thanks, Grandpa Wayne, for making the cars for us!

One of Reagan's cars. It started out purple with a red heart on it and then ended up being graffitied with yellow.:)
